End of Season Beach Clean Up at Ingoldmells

Volunteers have turned out to clean the beach in Ingoldmells, supported by local businesses. Organised by Phil & Julia Gaskell of CAFA (Coastal Access for All). There were 11 Lincolnshire County Council staff members from around the region whom kindly donated their free time. As well over 10 Calor Gas Staff Members and 4 Laver Leisure staff members all contributing towards the beach clean.

Skegness Mayor, Coun Sid Dennis Kindly donated 2 skips for the collection of todays clean and the Café Owner Sarah Heath provided hot drinks and Food for all.

Paul Marshall, of Coastal Access For All, said: “A very succesful beach clean took place between Butlins and Ingoldmells, supported by staff from Lincolnshire County Council and Calor Gas. Both groups of workers contacted Cafa who provided equipment and help. Big thank you also to staff and management of Laver Leisure Caravan Parks Ltd and Ingoldale Park who helped and enabled it to go ahead. Thanks also to Barry’s Cafe who provided free hot drinks to all volunteers.”

CAFA ( Coastal Access for All)

Paul Marshall started Skegness and District Coastal Access for All (CAFA) 2010 to clear walkways blocked with sand and undergrowth with a hired digger and Army Cadets with shovels. CAFA soon moved into beach cleans and Judi and Phil have been involved for the last 6 years directing 8 public beach cleans a year, advertised on the Marine Conservation Society Beach watch page. They also help put on extra beach cleans for other groups (such as Police Cadets , County Care for e.g.)or local business’ .  The group has a Facebook page with various pictures https://www.facebook.com/groups/189636154259/?fref=nf
